time on your hands?

I know I've said this before, but you can find such entertaining things online!! Not only entertaining, but knowledgeable, funny, useful things. Lucky for you, I've picked out some faves below! Enjoy :)

First off, my new favorite commercial. (I would SO do this!)

A colleague sent this article to me: 5 truths in dealing with difficult people (isn't invitation #2 such a great reminder? We can control how we feel about situations.)

Did you get the U2 album unknowingly put on your iPhone? (if you have one, you did!) Find out to how remove it here. (read also: was it worth it?)

The 17 things only lazy vegetarians will understand (I sympathize with #1, #15, & #17)

Everything you need to know about guacamole (including how to make Japanese guac!)

You NEED to watch how hilarious Jimmy Fallon is singing "All About That Bass!"

How to be insufferable on Facebook (sometimes Facebook statuses drive me crazy!)

What French kids eat for lunch (bread & cheese!? Sign me up!)

We have so many things to be thankful for! Read about one mom's realization of that.

27 things we must say goodbye to by 27. (This whole list made me laugh out loud. Read it.)

I made pico de gallo on the weekend & I think it went over well! So very easy to make too.

Happy Hump Day! (remember this commercial?!)
PS - Guess where I went this weekend?!

a thing post

See below for Shannon-approved things about the web :)

Is Costco worth it? (sent to me by my poppa)

Online wedding dress rip off - caution brides-to-be!

My boy Usher is coming to town! I heart him.

I'd love to throw one of these parties. Has anyone ever hosted one? Or attended one?

The top 10 most commonly mispronounced foods. (not sure how I feel about #10 & #1...)

I reaaaaaalllllyyyy want these shoes. I even wanted them last year! It's meant to be, right??

How to: caramelize onions.

I love this - recipes on the inside of your cabinets!

I made eggs benny (on toast) this past long weekend. Any tips for a thick & easy Hollandaise sauce?! This one was still flavorful, but didn't quite taste like the restaurant ones. Not sure how to improve it!! I love breakfasts. Especially when they follow sleeping in on a Saturday morning!

pork roast

If you would have told me two years ago that I'd be cooking a pork roast while waiting for my fiancee to come home from work, I would have called you crazy! Life takes you in such great directions, and this pork roast smells pretty darn good.

On the wedding front, we've started some basics: dates, venues, venues, and more venues. My friend Amanda lovingly sent me this comical video entitled "How to Plan A Wedding: The Brutally Honest Edition." You need to watch it, especially if you have any experience/interest in wedding planning. My favorite part is about the cummerbunds. Watch it.

Edwin & I went to the Surrey Night Market last Saturday. I didn't take any pictures unfortunately, but there wasn't really much to take pictures of besides food. It was definitely not nearly as big as the Richmond Night Market, but we both thought the food was better with more variety. (besides those potato things on a stick, which both had multiple vendors of) The Richmond Night Market has mostly Asian food (noodles, bubble tea, etc.) where the Surrey Night Market had pizza, Indian food, donairs, kebobs, and more. I had some delicious fish pakoras there!

We also threw our first dinner party on Sunday evening at our house! My parents, brother, and grandparents came over and we had salmon, chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, salad, and buns. It was the first time using our beautiful dining room table!

Not the fanciest place settings, and we don't have anything on the walls, but this was our dinner table!

Edwin bought me flowers last week - just because!

This mirror was my grandparents from their house - I love it and we finally put it up this weekend in our room.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Have a great rest of the week :)
